Matthew Perry : Matthew Perry was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, to Suzanne Marie (Langford), a Canadian journalist, and John Bennett Perry, an American actor. His ancestry includes English, Irish, German, Swiss-German, and French-Canadian.
Perry was raised in Ottawa, Ontario, where he became a top-ranked junior tennis player in Canada. Upon graduating from high school, Perry intended to enroll at the University of Southern California. However, when he was offered a leading role on the television series, Second Chance (1987), he seized the opportunity to begin his acting career.

His other feature film credits included Fools Rush In (1997), A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon (1988), She’s Out of Control (1989) and Parallel Lives (1994). Matthew Perry Quotes
- I learned to fall down early in life – I was like six – because I realized it was a way to make girls laugh.
- [on originating the show ‘Mr. Sunshine’] Some of it is based on me. I like to think I’m a little less selfish than this character, but at times in my life I certainly have been that way. I’ve been accused of not really paying attention to a sentence unless my name comes up in it twice.
- When I did ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’ I would look over and see Aaron Sorkin pacing around in the corner of the stage, mumbling to himself. I thought, Well, he’s crazy. And then I realized what he was actually doing was playing out the next week’s scenes as he was writing them. And that was intriguing to me. So now I’ve become one of the people that mumbles in the corner of the room.
- [on his sports-based series ‘Go On’] Whenever I come across a famous athlete, I’m shameless. I’ll just ask them to be on the show. To my face they’ve all said yes so far.
- I gravitate towards sort of broken characters who try to be better people.

What is ketamine?
Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic used medically to induce anesthesia. In more recent years, it’s also been used as a treatment for treatment-resistant depression, according to StatPearls, an online library published in the National Library of Medicine.
According to American Addiction Centers, Ketamine has a “potential for recreational misuse.”
What is ketamine therapy?
- According to the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), ketamine was approved in the 1970s as a rapid-acting anesthetic by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- In recent years, off-label ketamine has been used to treat psychological disorders like depression and PTSD.
- “The average antidepressant takes about two months to produce a reduction in symptoms,” Dr. John Crystal, co-director of the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, told ABC News’ Eva Pilgrimin November. “Ketamine produces those same kinds of improvements within 24 hours in many people.”
- Ketamine therapy made headlines in 2021 when former NBA player Lamar Odom opened up to “Good Morning America” about his use of the drug therapy to help him battle addiction. “I went to rehab and did some other things, but ketamine came into my life at the right time,” Odom told ABC News’ Steve Osunsami.
- “I think of ketamine as an intervention that is part of an overall treatment,” said Crystal. “Ketamine can be something that can facilitate and enhance the impact of psychotherapy.”
